I have never had an Apple Mac Black Screen before. When I was a Windows girl, the blue screen was the dreaded screen. But with Apple, it seems to be the black screen.
This is not a detailed explanation of why or what to do. I will only give a brief summary of what happened, what I tried, and what finally worked for me. Took me about half to one hour, and it was no fun.
Why the Mac Black Screen?
I don’t know. I just restarted the MacBook Pro and then all I got was a black screen after that. On pressing the power button would, the laptop would make a sound (like when it boots up), but the screen remained dark.
What I tried
On another device, I followed some suggestions and tried holding down the following keys, simultaneously for 10 secs:
- Shift+Power
- Shift+Control+Power
- Shift+Control+Option+Power
Nothing worked for me.
My Solution to the Mac Black Screen
Then I watched a youTube video but the person actually started to go into the hardware. Uh-uh, I thought. Not for me.
And this next video is what I watched next, and where I found my solution (which, for me, was detaching all accessories – and blimey, that worked!!!). I included that video (by TheDroidGuy) below just in case you too find your solution to the scary MacBook Pro Black Screen. Good luck! And thank you TheDroidGuy!!!
