MailChimp Signup Form – Now that we have opened a MailChimp account and created a list, created a campaign, created a layout for our newsletter, it is time to figure out how to create a Signup Form for our site.
My specifics are likely to be different from yours.
I am building a signup form specifically for a Genesis child theme and hooking up to MailChimp.
What is needed:
- Genesis child theme
- MailChimp account
- Genesis eNewsExtended plugin (by Brandon Kraft)
Note: if you are not using Genesis framework for your WordPress site or you decide not to use the Genesis eNews Extended plugin, then read How The Heck Do You Use MailChimp. It covers the basics of setting up a MailChimp signup form for your site.

Notes
If you choose not to collect LNAME (last name) on your signup form, then do not enter that in the eNews Extended widget. (Even if you have specified that as one of the fields for your form at MailChimp.)
“You don’t have to use both fields and just need to make sure that your name field name matches what you’re mailing list provider is expecting.”
