Managing Multiple MailChimp Accounts – Now why would you want to have more than one MailChimp account? There are many reasons as Google will tell you. But I am doing it because I want a MailChimp account for each of my sites. You can manage all your MailChimp accounts from one login. Which is great! So let’s go …
Multiple MailChimp Accounts
Sign up at MailChimp for another account. (I am again choosing the free account plan.)
Here are some things to keep in mind for your next account(s):
- do NOT use the same email address as your other account. MailChimp allows you to do this, but don’t do it. (Later when you want to try and manage your various accounts from one place, you won’t be able to do it. Worse, you will not be able to log in to your later accounts because your email address is associated with another account!)
Just create your new account as per MailChimp Tutorial #1 – sign up.
To Manage MailChimp Multiple Accounts from One Login
Let’s say that you decide that your first MailChimp account is going to be your primary account.
From the secondary account(s), you have to Invite the primary account and make it Admin.
To allow the primary account to be the main manager, you will need to:
- have the second (or third, or fourth, …) account invite the primary account and act as admin
To do this, log into your second account >> go to the top right of your dashboard >> click on your profile image >> Account
Then on the next page >> Settings >> Users
Next you will see an “Invite User” button. What do you do? Click it of course!
Remember: we are in the secondary account. And we are going to invite the first (primary) account. And we want the primary account to be the Admin (of this secondary account).
So enter the email address of the primary account (the email address you signed up with for the primary account) and select “Admin”. Then click “Send Invite”.
You will then get an onscreen notice of who you invited (the email address) and in what role (admin). It is great that on that same page, MailChimp also tells you the status (e.g. pending) and allows you to resend or even cancel that invitation.
Meanwhile you should check your email address (associated with your primary MailChimp) account. On arrival, the invitation will look something like …
Just go ahead and accept invitation. MailChimp will guide you through the steps.
Now when you are in your second MailChimp account, you can check that there are 2 users (with their respective roles).
Account >> Settings >> Users
And if you log out of your second account and log into your primary account, you will see the list of accounts you can manage. With one log in: your primary account login!
You can repeat this invitation process from as many accounts as you want (I think). Happy Chimping!
p/s you can even switch accounts from your (primary account) dashboard.
Your account icon (top right) >> drop down menu >> Switch Account

Thanks for this post. It was very helpful to me in doing it. It seemed easy enough but the Mailchimp directions were not so good, not clear. Yours were. Thank you.
Hi there Regina! Thank you so much for letting me know. And for your kind words. Yay! I am so happy to have been of help! 😀
P/S Sorry for slow responses. I am seldom on site and have had some on-going health things that keep me occupied.
