Customising Signup Form – How to customise the Genesis eNews Extended plugin signup form.
I am using the Genesis eNews Extended plugin together with MailChimp. The plugin also works with many other newsletter providers. So this short tutorial should also work for almost anyone using the eNews Extended plugin.
Note: I believe that the plugin in is only for those using the Genesis framework on their WordPress blogs.
In MailChimp Tutorial #4 – MailChimp Signup Form, I mentioned that you can customise the signup form that the eNews Extended plugin provides.
This article builds on PastMaster Blogger’s post How to Customize Genesis eNews Extended Widget.
In the article, he provides some styling codes depending on where you are placing the sign-up form. Find the relevant code and copy it.
Then paste that into your stylesheet.
(In WordPress, you will find it at Dashboard >> Appearance >> Editor)
Note: Paste that into your CHILD theme’s stylesheet. Better yet if you have created a separate stylesheet for your site. That way you don’t ‘corrupt’ your original child theme’s stylesheet. Never modify Genesis Framework’s stylesheet itself. It might get overridden with updates.
When pasted, you can modify and test changes to the styling to get your desired result.
Where to put your Signup Form?
WP Dashboard >> Appearance >> Widgets
Once you have installed and activated the Genesis eNews Extended plugin, when you go to your widgets section, you will find the eNews Extended widget available. You can drag and drop the widget to any place you like on your layout (e.g. sidebar, after post, etc.)
Then once in place you can click the drop-down arrow and fill in the fields according to
or refer to Brandon Kraft’s (plugin creator) Installation instructions for Genesis eNews Extended with MailChimp.
