WordTracker Free Keyword Tool
On 29 Aug, 2013 I mentioned in 3 Alternatives Google Keyword Tool that Google’s wonderful free keyword tool had gone kaput – no longer available.
And I suggested 3 alternative (free) tools (SemRush Keyword Tool, Bing Keyword Research, and UberSuggest Keyword Suggestion Tool).
Well it has just come to my notice that the reputed WordTracker now offers a WordTracker Free Keyword Tool. I have only given it a quick run and it seems even better than the 3 keyword tools I previously mentioned.
Note; You do need an account to use it. However you can join for free. Keep you login details handy and safe. According to WordTracker’s Terms and Condition, you are allowed only one service account.
Addendum Just found out that there is a keyword limit to WordTracker’s free tool. It is not very clear and they don’t seem to inform you anywhere on the page. But according to an email I received from WordTracker – there is a limit of 50 keywords (not “searches” 🙁 ). If you confirm your email addressess (which they may ask in an email), then that increases to 100 keywords. However they do not specify if it is xxx keywords per day, per month, or in total across all time!!! Not very useful that!

Hi Saby, thank you for the info on WordTracker as it is such a useful keyword tool.
I have tried the Free WordTracker Keyword Tool. The free tool is very limited and is almost useless. To upgrade is very expensive. Not worth it in my opinion.
I do not miss the Google Keyword Tool, I like Google’s’ Keyword Planner even better. I can still find keyword ideas and it allows me to find the search volume for keywords in my local town. Most of my clients are small local businesses and the Keyword Planner is perfect for my needs. I think it is a must use for anyone doing Local SEO or trying to optimize a site for local search results.
Hi there Larry. Thanks for your feedback. I am pleasantly surprised you like Google’s new Keyword Planner. I am finding it so limiting, tedious, and lacking in info. Maybe I am not doing something right. If you should ever write a simple how to and show how it is good (or better than the old Google Keyword Tool), I would be most interested in having a read. Meanwhile I will keep in mind your advice re. WordTracker’s Keyword Tool. Thanks!

Hi Larry, thanks for the reply and link. However that specific YouTube does not seem to cover the new Google Keyword Planner. Rather it is about on-page optimization and “learning to conduct an SEO Audit on a single page”.
I also had a quick look at the other tuts by JM Internet Gp and nothing about Google Keyword Planner jumps up at me 🙁

I see you use aweber. How do you get the two check boxes at the bottom of comments:
1. Notify me of follow-up comments via email.
2. Notify me of new posts via email.

Hi again Jim, yes I do use AWeber – but I am still bumbling along at this stage. However the ability to allow commenters to follow up on responses to their comments and be notified comes from the “Jetpack by WordPress” plugin. There are many functionality modules in there. The one that does it is called “Jetpack comments”. Once that is activated, you can go to your WP Settings >> Discussion >> and tick checkboxes to allow the “follow comments” option. Hope that helps 🙂
